Platform Chat
Unified cohort chat — mentors and classmates are added automatically.
Each cohort has a Unified Chat channel for async messaging with your tutor and classmates. You are added automatically when you enroll in the active intake.
Accessing Chat
Open Messages (`/chat`) from the signed-in navigation bar. Select your cohort channel (named like `{Course} — Unified Chat`).
Who is in the channel
Active learners on your cohort intake, your course default mentor, and any tutors assigned to you. Membership updates when you enroll or your assignment changes.
Course-wide vs cohort channels
Some programs also use course-wide channels. Cohort unified chat is scoped to your intake season so you only see peers in your class.
Live + chat
During Jitsi standups, use in-meeting chat for live discussion. For follow-up, post in your cohort unified channel or use Sync from tutor chat when your mentor starts a live session.
Notifications
Enable notification preferences under Account → Settings to stay updated on new messages.
